PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh auto care specialists and carwash operators say road salt damages the protective paint coating on vehicles and causes rust on brake and fuel lines.
“One of the most important things is keeping the salt off of the vehicle,” Parris Logan, manager at Mr. Magic Carwash in East Liberty said. “Over time, it can eat into your paint, the underbody of your car as well. It’s important to keep the snow and salt off the underbody as well.”
